Blackboard Ponies

This WIP 2D Puzzle Platformer grew out of a game jam game and got a big redesign while keeping the original narrative.

Cheeky ponies magically come to life from blackboard drawings, cause mayhem, solve colorful puzzles and release color back into all our lives.

As a team of only two people, both of us have to take on multiple roles in order to make this project come alive. To create a fun little game with a good game feel and simple, but interesting puzzles, we also had to make all assets ourselves, meaning art, animation, vfx, sfx. Most of these responsibilities also fell to me, next to the overall game and puzzle design.

The pony protagonist should speak to the horse game community, so creating appealing animations and typical horse behavior, even for this a simple style, is a challenge on its own.
